The powertrain lab at NATRAX consists of a Vehicle test cell with a 4×4 chassis dyno with an emission measurement system. The lab is used for benchmarking, engine performance and engine deterioration tests. The test setup can also be used for Research and Development as the vehicle’s are run on different tests tracks while testing for endurance. The lab is capable for homologation along with R&D complimenting the test tracks at NATRAX. The facility is capable of testing upto EURO V and BS IV. The lab is currently under upgradation to BS VI.
Vehicle Test Cell (Chassis Dynamometer)
The 4×4 chassis dyno at NATRAX is from M/s AVL systems. Also known as rolling road, the chassis dyno is capable of real road load conditions on test vehicles. The dyno can accommodate vehicles upto 4,500 kg. The dyno can test vehicles with 2WD and 4WD capability and front/ rear wheel driven vehicles.
- 4×4 chassis dyno with 48’ drums.
- Max axle load: 4,500 kg.
- Base inertia: 1,200 kg
- Max speed: 250 kmph
- Wheel base: 2000 to 4000 mm
- Inertia range: 454 kg to 5448 kg
Vehicle Test Cell (Emission Analyzer)
The emission test facility at NATRAX is from M/s HORIBA systems, Japan. The emission testing setup at NATRAX complies with Indian, European, US, Japanese and SAE standards. The emission test equipment’s, along with the Chassis dyno is capable to measure emission upto EURO V norms. The emission lab at NATRAX is currently under BS VI upgradation.
